Card, PIN or face? How to choose the right way to open a door

Every door has a different story. A hotel room, an office and a storeroom each need something different.

MIFARE card

Affordable, familiar to guests and easy to hand out at reception.

PIN code

Guests don't need a card, just a 4–12 digit PIN, length chosen by the hotel. For security we advise against codes shorter than 6 digits. A 4-digit code has only 10,000 combinations; a 6-digit code has one million — less risk of guessing and of codes repeating between guests. A good fit for apartments without a front desk.

Mobile app

Open the door with your phone.

Face and QR code

The highest convenience: entry without a card or a key. Space Lock MAX has a built-in biometric scanner and QR code reader. It suits offices, hotels, medical facilities and secured sites.

You don't have to choose forever

Space Lock LIGHT supports card, PIN, app and mechanical key. A paid upgrade to MAX activates its QR code reader and biometric scanner.
